Nepal
ICS(Improved Cooking Stove) Project started from the assumption that there was a high correlation between the highly prevalent respiratory disease and the lack of separation between kitchen and bedroom in traditional Nepal houses. In 2012, we built chimneys for 700 houses in Solukhmbu in cooperation with Dhulikhel Hospital Community Health Program Team and community people. After installing, the number of patients suffering from respiratory diseases such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and pneumonia dropped significantly.
